Interestingly, I’m starting to build the #DailyFollower community around this time of the year, as the community is exclusively about and for the reason for this season.
That said…
Beginnings are hard!
Yet, here I go!
Here’s the first and most important artefact of the #DailyFollower community - the #DailyFollower newsletter.
I’m starting this newsletter with only ONE objective: to share daily thoughts, stories, and testimonies with other committed daily followers about following Jesus on a journey to living a meaningful, fruitful, impactful and satisfying life.
It took me some time to finally start this after I received my matching orders on December 5, 2024; that’s why I began by saying that beginnings are hard.
Yet, here am I beginning now.
Thanks for opening this first newsletter; I assure you this is the beginning of something extraordinary in your already outstanding journey through life.
1. Why this? Why now?
I’ve been on this planet for almost four decades, and my journey has been within different Christian circles. During this time, I have seen enough to know that being a Christian and a Jesus follower are two different things.
Our world would be different if we had more followers of Jesus than Christians.
But following Jesus, indeed, is tough! Just ask the rich man who engaged Jesus about the good deeds he must do to have eternal life (Matthew 19:16-30, NLT). He left the conversation sad.
I’ve seen more Christians unsatisfied (sad) about their journeys with Jesus than those enjoying their journeys with Him.
I’m starting this newsletter to create a space where committed followers of Jesus can explore the dynamics of actively following Christ - through studies, discussions, and collective learning for profit, i.e. leading a meaningful, fruitful, impactful and satisfying life.
2. What kind of community is this?
The #DailyFollower Substack is more than a newsletter; it’s a community and one that aims to see its members:
become more attuned to the Source of meaning, fruitfulness, and impact,
do meaningful, fruitful, impactful things in life and
live meaningful, fruitful, impactful, and satisfying lives.
3. How will I do this? You might ask.
The #DailyFollower newsletters and subsequent artefacts will provide daily followers with:
Scripture-based thoughts about the character, nature, and power of a daily follower,
Inspiring contemporary stories of daily followers living meaningful, fruitful, impactful and satisfying lives,
Empowering communities for daily followers to partner with God to build meaningful, fruitful, impactful and satisfying lives that advance His agenda.
4. Is this for you?
If you’ve continued reading up until this point, thanks!
I believe this newsletter is for you if any (or all) of the following statements is/are true:
You are passionate about being more than you are right now.
You want your life to count for more than it already does today.
You know Jesus, but believe there is more in Him that you still need to know.
You believe Jesus’ word about doing more than He did in your journey in life.
You passionately want to live a meaningful, fruitful, impactful and satisfying life.
You are committed to life-long learning and will always invest in growing yourself.
If at least one of these statements is true, you should consider joining this community.
5. It’s a subscriber-only community.
Valuable growth happens at a cost.
Bishop David Oyedepo (my great-grandfather in the journey of following daily—I will explain the lineage at some point 😁) said: Nothing of value is ever free.
