Dear #DailyFollower,
Introduction
In a fast-paced world with many things changing faster than we can blink, we need guidance and direction to make the best of each passing day.
The big question is, where do we get actionable, precise, timely, and accurate guidance and direction to take ordered steps to help make our days count for more than passing the time?
In most life endeavours, trusted resources provide general guidance and specific direction to enable people to take the right action at the right time. That’s the gift education offers humanity. We are trained to become engineers, lawyers, doctors, cooks, caregivers, etc., so we know how to achieve desirable outcomes in these professions.
An engineer would struggle to use his training to achieve the desirable outcomes of a cook, and a doctor cannot try to apply medical principles in a court of law.
But who teaches how to achieve their desired life outcomes to lawyers, doctors, cooks, engineers, caregivers, teachers, etc.?
The Word That Brings Guidance And Direction
Psalm 119:105, EXB
105 Your Word is like a lamp for my feet
and a light for my path [it shows how life should be lived].
The Word of God is our ultimate guide as daily followers operating across different professional lines.
It gives us the general guidance we need to navigate the volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous dynamics of our fast-changing world.
Think about this as a tour guide providing a tourist with general guidance on how to get from point A to point B.
Scriptures provide all created beings with the general guidance we need to make the best of our lives if we care to look in.
Those who look in and do more than look in to obey the instructions in the Scriptures find more than a lamp to their feet in the Word; they also find a light to guide them in specific paths.
The Word also provides direction for making sound judgements and decisions that help us live our best lives.
The key to unlocking our desired outcomes lies within the Word of God.
Conclusion
How much better would our world be if we paid more attention to digging into the hidden treasures in the Word?
Many of the current strains at the seams of our world would not exist if we paid diligent attention to learn and obey all we find in God’s Word.
Oh, that we pray as the psalmist prayed in Psalm 119:18, EXB:
18 Open my eyes to see
the ·miracles [wonders] in your ·teachings [instructions; law].
When we are open to seeing the wonders in God’s Word, we find in the wonders the guidance and direction we need for the best versions of our lives.
Versions that effectively partner with God in all He is doing and bless our world.
Yours faithfully,
John, a #DailyFollower.
