Dear #DailyFollower,
Introduction
Proverbs 11 continues the pattern of sharp contrasts between the righteous and the wicked, showing us the profound effects of our character on our relationships, communities, and destinies. At the heart of this chapter is a resounding truth: God delights in integrity.
Whether in business dealings, speech, generosity, or relationships, the call to live honestly and uprightly echoes throughout these verses. Proverbs 11 invites us to slow down and remember what matters most to God in a world that often prizes results over righteousness.

The Text
📖 Proverbs 11:1-3, EXB
1 The Lord hates cheating, but he delights in honesty.
2 Proud and boastful people will be shamed, but wisdom stays with those who are modest and humble.
3 Good people will be guided by honesty; dishonesty will destroy those who are not trustworthy.
📖 Proverbs 11:1-3, AMPC
1 A false balance and unrighteous dealings are extremely offensive and shamefully sinful to the Lord, but a just weight is His delight.
2 When swelling and pride come, then emptiness and shame come also, but with the humble – those who are modest and lowly – is wisdom.
3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them, but the wilful contrariness and crookedness of the treacherous shall destroy them.
These opening verses set the tone—God doesn’t tolerate honesty; He delights in it. Integrity is not optional for the follower of Jesus; it’s foundational.
Some Thoughts
God measures more than outcomes – He weighs the motives behind our actions. Honest dealings, even when unnoticed by others, are precious to Him.
Humility attracts wisdom. Pride blinds us, but humility opens us up to learning, growing, and walking closely with God.
Integrity protects and directs – Those who walk with integrity find guidance, stability, and divine favour.
A Few Questions To Ponder
Let’s reflect honestly today:
Are there areas in my life where I’m tempted to cut corners or hide the truth?
What would it look like for me to practise radical honesty and integrity this week?
How can I cultivate humility in my heart and in my relationships?
Walking with God means choosing integrity over convenience, humility over pride, and truth over deception—even when no one else is watching.
Conclusion
Proverbs 11 reminds us that integrity is not just about what we do—it's about who we are becoming. We can reflect God's heart in every transaction, conversation, and decision. Let’s not measure success by what we gain but by how faithfully we walk in righteousness.
Today’s challenge: Identify one area where you can practise integrity more intentionally. Then do it with joy, knowing God delights in your honest walk.
