Dear #DailyFollower,
Introduction
Proverbs 10 marks a shift in the book, from poetic speeches to a collection of short, wisdom-filled sayings. Each verse is a principle, a glimpse into the life God desires for His people. Here, we see the clear contrast between the righteous and the wicked, the wise and the foolish, the diligent and the lazy.
These contrasts are more than clever observations. They are God’s invitations to choose the path that leads to life, peace, and lasting joy.

The Text
📖 Proverbs 10:1, EXB
A wise son makes his father happy, but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.
📖 Proverbs 10:1, AMPC
The Proverbs of Solomon: A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish and self-confident son is the grief of his mother.
This opening verse sets the tone for what follows—wisdom produces joy and honour; foolishness produces grief and shame.
The rest of the chapter continues with more of these powerful couplets, contrasting righteousness and wickedness, diligence and laziness, wise speech and foolish talk. Each verse carries a principle worth reflecting on.
Some Thoughts
Wisdom brings joy to others – Our choices don’t only affect us. Living wisely honours our families, communities, and ultimately God.
Righteousness protects and blesses – Again and again in Proverbs 10, we see that the righteous are upheld, remembered, and blessed by God.
Speech matters – Verses throughout the chapter remind us that our words can build up or tear down. Wisdom speaks life.
A Few Questions To Ponder
Here are some prompts to help you pause and reflect:
In what ways are my daily choices bringing joy—or grief—to others?
Is my speech a source of encouragement and life?
What does it look like for me to walk in righteousness this week?
Wisdom is not just knowing the right thing; it is doing it in love, humility, and trust in God.
Conclusion
Proverbs 10 calls us to live wisely, speak life, and act righteously. These are not lofty ideals—they’re daily invitations from our loving Father to walk closely with Him. Each choice matters. Each word has power. Each step on the path of righteousness leads to joy, favour, and peace.
Today’s challenge: Choose one verse from Proverbs 10 that stands out to you. Could you write it down? Meditate on it. Then, apply it in a real, practical way today.
Yours faithfully,
