Dear #DailyFollower,
Introduction
Isn’t it still incredible that this is the last complete working week of the first month of the year? I can’t stop being amazed at how quickly this month has gone.
I hope you’ve had a fantastic start to this week. It will be a week to remember for good for you in Jesus’ name. Amen!
In yesterday’s letter, I wrote about declaring the end from the beginning - the principle on which God founded and sustains the universe.
The principle with which every daily follower births results in and out of season when applied in alignment with God’s purposes.
Today, I’ll begin a three-part series that will help anyone seeking to engage in this principle to start seeing God’s words in their mouths bring forth realities as decreed.
A Foundation
In my letter yesterday, I shared a personal example of one application of the principle in my life. As I meditated on the words from the letter earlier today, I would like to share more about my journey to learning how to declare the end and the result from the beginning.
My teacher on the matter had (and has to continue) to be the One who has in the past declared ends and results from the beginning and had what He said, and who continues to declare ends and results before they manifest and continues to see these things manifest as declared.
From my studies and practice of declaring the end from the beginning, I’ve learned that there are three things I must do consistently to see God’s declarations in my mouth deliver the realities God intends for me:
I must think as God thinks, i.e., see as He sees, process information gathered as He does, and reach the same conclusions He reaches.
I must speak as God speaks, i.e., say the things I seek to see, believe that things I have said are as I have said, and live in the spiritual reality of the spoken words.
I must do as God does, i.e., expect to see the manifestation of God’s words, position to receive the results I seek, and acknowledge the manifestation.
In today’s letter, I’ll focus on the first part of this triad - thinking as God thinks.
How We Think Matters
I’ve learned that I must think differently to exercise the power to declare over myself, my family, and God’s people and see the declarations bring forth results that only God can deliver.
As followers of Jesus, we often give mental assent to the statement above, but that’s all there is to it; we never take action to ask how we can think differently.
We want our lives to be much more than we currently experience, but we also want to experience the ebbs and flows of life like most of the 8 billion people on Earth.
We can’t because those who partner with God to declare the end from the beginning must think as He thinks.
So how can we think as He thinks?
Here are three steps I’ve engaged in my journey so far to think as God thinks:
See everything through the lenses of God’s Word: the Word of God is the filter through which I assess everything that goes through my eye-gates.
Process everything based on the principles of God’s Word: Everything I see must align with God’s Word. If it doesn’t, I have one of two choices: discard the information received through my eye-gates or make the things I see align with God’s Word.
Agree with God’s Word in all cases: God's Word takes precedence in all situations. It must always supersede all information that comes to me through my eye-gates.
In addition to these steps, I guard what I allow to get through my:
Eye-gates - what I watch is highly censored,
Ear-gates - what I listen to is also highly censored and
Mind-gate - I pay attention to what I think about.
These actions enable me to pay attention to my thoughts and assess that I am consistently thinking as I know God thinks, as revealed by His Word.
Key Takeaways
I am not a free thinker; I think like God.
God must be at the centre of my thinking every day.
I must diligently guard my heart (eyes, ears and mind).
Conclusion
In Luke 6:44-45, EXB, Jesus said:
44 [For] Each tree is ·known [identified] by its own fruit. [For] People don’t ·gather [pick] figs from thorn-bushes, and they don’t get grapes from ·bushes [brambles; briers]. 45 Good people bring good things out of the good ·they stored [treasured] in their hearts. But evil people bring evil things out of the evil ·they stored [treasured] in their hearts. ·People speak the things that are in their hearts [For the mouth speaks what overflows from the heart].
We speak from the abundance of our thoughts; that’s why how we think really matters.
If will we declare the end from the beginning and see such ends manifest, then we must think like the One who has done it and continues to do it.
Doing so is the first step to becoming the daily followers that declare the end and results from the beginning and see these declarations happen as we make them.
Yours faithfully,
John, a #DailyFollower.
